Youth group thumbs up for Gov Obaseki

Youth Group under the aegis of ‘Alliance for Continuous Change’ Ovia North East Local Government area, Edo State, has passed a vote of confidence on the Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration.
The Group said in a statement signed by the President, Mr. Uyi Amienoho, Secretary, Mr. Uyi Aibangbee, and the Director, media and publicity, Mr. Mathew Amadasun that it was impressed with performance of the Obaseki administration.
Barely two years in office, the administration has brought much transformation into governance in the State, also order, and sanity, the group noted.
Hence, “gone are the days the State was divided among hoodlums, merit was sacrificed for thuggery, education and skill acquisition took the back seat, and educated graduates were at the mercy of hooligans.”
In its vote of confidence on the Obaseki administration, the group expressed commendation for what it termed; tremendous increase in the Internal Generated Revenue of the State, and prudent spending of available resources.
This is as it chronicled achievements of the administration to include: Efforts to make Edo industrial and technological hub in the South – South and Nigeria, solid foundation being laid for the State Industrial Park, pursuit of the Benin River Port with great commitment.
Others it noted: revamping of the Institute of Continuing Education Centre to a world class Industrial Training Skill Acquisition Centre for the youths and young adults, among others.
“In less than two years of this administration, we have seen a government driven by commitment, intelligence, technology, innovation and international partnership.
“We are excited and hopeful that things will only get better.”
Towards 2019, the Group pleaded that the people of Ovia North – East loacal government area should be allowed to choose their representatives for both the State and National Assemblies.
They solicits free, fair, transparent and credible internal democracy that will produce candidates that have interest of the people at heart.
