The Elders, youths and leaders of Agaga Erugba Community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State  have vowed to resist attempt to add any family from Effurun Community that has no ancestral link with them to join the Leadership of their community.

The President General of Agaga Erugba Community threatened that any attempt to do so “we shall be left with no other option than to join Igbudu ,Agbarha Kingdom or Udu Kingdom since in the first place we never begged anybody to make us community and if going back to Agaga Layout would give us our peace so be it”.

In protest letter dated 10 May, 2017 by the leadership of the community signed by Chief Blessing Eyagomare and Churchill  Ajueyisi ,made available to journalists in Warri  and addressed to the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Abe 1,they vowed to resist the inclusion of Ajomata, Eduoh, Efebraye and Arigbe families of Effurun Community which  have no historical and  ancestral link with them in the leadership of their community.

They pointed out that communities like Ekpan, Enerhen, Ugborikoko, Ugboroke, Ugbomro all in Uvwie  have membership of their respective constituted community leadership from among themselves and wondered why that of Agaga Eruga should be different.’

They vowed to resist any attempt to add any additional family to their community “as we will resist any attempt to make us subordinate to Effurun community because Agaga Erugba community is not a colony of Effurun Community”.

Prince Christopher Agaga, President General of the community informed that all legal arrangement to pull out from Uvwie Kingdom has almost been concluded as all historical documents and evidences to that effect will be made available before the court and media.

According to him,  Agaga Agbaisi children who are the true owner of Agaga Layout will resist any attempt to impose any family from Effurun community to join them with the intention of “forcefully take over the landed property left behind by our father”.

He drew the attention of the Inspector General of Police to the issue and called for an independent investigation to ascertain the veracity of their claims alleging that some highly placed persons in Effurun community have been ordered to “attack us by any means possible”.

He added that Agaga Community was only changed from Agaga Layout in 2002 to compensate his father for co- signing the protest letter dated 9 February, 2001 with Mr. Anthony Okoto  Unuevworo of Enerhen and other Enerhen community leaders against the creation of Enerhen Local Government Area from the present Uvwie Local Government Area. He added that the letter also recognized Agaga Layout ” As solely owned by Agaga Family who are descendants of Onoseri”
