Having crushed other group rivals in the past games, the Nigeria Super Eagles on Friday, Sept 1, maintained their group B dominance after they hammered second position holder, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon four- zero in quest for qualification to Russia- 2018 World Cup.

The Nigeria team hammered their Africa neighbours four goals to nothing with two of the goals coming from Odion Ighalo and John Mikel Obi in the first half of the match.

Ighalo scored the first goal in 29 minutes while Mikel doubled the lead in 45 minutes just before the whistle.

Victor Moses joined the score sheet just after 13 minutes into the second half while kelechi Iheanacho sealed it up with a fine finishing up front having been brought in for Victor Moses who was substituted.

Speaking to journalists after the cracker, the technical adviser to the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr said his team still has a lot to do for them to be a guaranteed slot for the next world cup game in Russia.

“We have done little well but have a lot to do…”said the German tactician.

On his part, the coach of the Cameroonian Hugo Broos said it was a very sad game for the Indomitable Lions who he said lost the game on what he called uncontrollable combination and balance.

Also speaking to newsmen in Uyo the national chairman of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rev. Samuel Ikpea said Nigeria Super Eagles have qualified already

“We are already in Russia come 2018, we the fans believe the boys, they have done us well and Nigerians well be proud of them.” He said.

Nigeria Super Eagles are currently on top of the group B table with nine points and seven goals advantage from three game having previously defeated Zambia and Algeria at the same Godswill Apkabio international stadium in Uyo.
