Following development, Mr. Felix Ovwigho has complimented the efforts of the Delta State Government in promoting transportation systems to the masses, as he manufactured a moving vehicle of about 1, 000 tones capacity in Ewu-Orere Community.
The 45 years old man who is a local Welder/Farmer by profession, also mastered Mechanical Engineering Skills, discovered one of the major needs of the Orere people in Ughelli South Local Government of Delta State as a means of solving their transportation problem.
As at press time the Indigenous Local Technician said, “God gave me the insight. Since creation, Vehicles had not come to Orere Community as a result of the river barrier. There is no bridge, no badges nor ships to cross vehicles from Ewu and Uwherun to this place. Thinking of this set-back has been my major concern on the developmental issue of Orere People. Hence, I ventured into the manufacturing of these moving vehicles.”
According to Mr. Felix Ovwigho, the possibility of transporting goods such as firewood, red oil, local gin, plantain, palm fruits, palm nut, yam, garri, pepper, cane, timbers and other numerous products that of high economic values which are find in Orere Community have not been harnessed to meet the need of the generality. Hence, “I decided to manufacture this moving vehicle to assist my people within the community, especially in transporting goods to the river sides.”
He also, appealed to the Media, State and Federal Government to come to his aid in manufacturing more and to improve on new skills and as well to bridge the Orere river, to enable this moving vehicles cross to other communities.
