A Chieftain of the APC in Ughelli North LGA, Elder Francis Onakpofure aka Hope in God has charged Urhobo people to stop throwing stones at the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

Reacting to a barrage of comments criticizing the DSP over the recent appointment of media aides whose roots could not be traced to Urhobo ancestry and to which the critics accuse the DSP of betrayal of trust to members of his constituents who stood for him through thick and thin, Elder Onakpofure said it was not late for the Urhobo senator to do the needful.

He appealed to Urhobo people to be patient with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in terms of political benefits and empowerment assuring that in due course, everybody would benefit in a downward chain impact of empowerment.

“We know Agege’s performance in the 8th senate as resounding and we expect him to perform better with his present political ranking in the country. I advise Urhobo people to stop throwing stones at the DSP because there are so many appointments and opportunities lined up for the Urhobo people and I am very sure he would put a smile on the faces of his constituents at the right time within the limit of his powers and resources.

He thanked senators of the 9th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who voted for Ovie Omo-Agege to emerge as Deputy Senate President and the leadership of the APC especially the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for his support to actualizing the dream of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and indeed the Urhobo people, who for the first time in the political history of Nigeria, produced the Deputy Senate President saying the Urhobo people will not forget the gesture in a hurry.
