Senator Ewherido is dead

The Senator representing Delta Central in the National Assembly, Chief Barr Pius Akpo Ewherido is dead.
He died today at the National Hospital, Abuja
Sources said he collapsed three days ago while making a phone call in his Abuja residence and was rushed to the National Hospital, Abuja where preparation for his treatment in Germany was being made before he died today.
Confirming his death, his media assistant, Mr Justice Irikefe Iyasere could not respond to calls but sent a text to Spy News that “it is true”.
Further details will be communicated later.
Meanwhile, a dirge statement signed by the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Comrade Ovuzorie Macaulay commiserated and expressed its deep condolences to the family of the late Senator at this trying moment.
The State government advised Deltans particularly members of the late Senator’s constituency to remain calm.
“We pray that God grants his family, his constituents and all of us the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss” Ovuzorie Macaulay said.
Late Senator Pius Ewherido hailed from Ewu-Urhobo in Ughelli South LGA of Delta State.
