People’s Trust berths in Delta state

People’s Trust, the political party adopted by the Nigeria Intervention Movement (NIM) has berthed in Delta state.
The political party took its stand in the political space of Delta state, Saturday, Sept. 22 after a successful congress held at the Emadora Hotel, Asaba during which the state executive of the party were elected.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mr Akpati Noel returned 23 elected state officers led by Mr Frederick Erukanure as Chairman, Mr Charles Onwueme (Secretary) and Mr John Egie (Publicity Secretary).
Other elected officers were: Mr Chuks Nwaka (Organizing Secretary), Mr Evans Nyore (Financial Secretary), Mr Emmanuel Igbine (Treasurer), Osu Johnny (Youth Leader), Mrs Kate Isiaye (Women Leader).
The list also included: Mr Christopher Anthony (Vice Chairman), Mr Sunny Iku (Vice chairman-Delta North), Mr Emmanuel Akpojiyovwi (Vice chairman-Delta Central), Mr Ramson Erabor (Vice chairman-Delta South), Mr Alex Obaro (Asst Sec), Mr Chinedu Ogbe (Asst Fin Sec), Miss Oromoni Benesigha (Asst Org Sec), Mr Tete Eghwubare (Asst Pub Sec), Mr Oba Azuka (Asst Youth Leader), Mr Hendrix Onwuma (Auditor), Erickson Arubayi (Asst Auditor), Barr Joy Mordi (Asst Women Leader), Miss Eloho Uloho (Asst Treasurer), Fred Owhotu (Legal Adviser) and Barr Chike Offiah (Asst Legal Adviser).
The congress was observed by a team of INEC officials led by Mr Moses Akonji (HOU EPM) INEC, Delta state.
In a post election speech, the state chairman, Mr Erukanure enjoined members of the state executive of People’ Trust to be united, committed and focused in their mandate to give the state a new political outlook in line with the manifesto of the party.
“People’s Trust will be able to make the needed impact in changing the direction of keeping faith with the Social Contract of citizens in awakening citizens’ hope where trust given to politicians over the common wealth will no longer be betrayed.
“We may not produce a President or Governor right now but we must build a house and follow our ideals to encourage and support the growth of democracy that will impact on the less privilege and the masses of Nigeria and Delta state in particular.
“We will give our support to credible people who could use political office to guarantee the protection of rights of the of the citizens of the state to good living”. Erukanure said.
