PDP will rule Delta forever says Amori
Senator Chief Ighoyota Amori representing Delta Central Senatorial District in National Assembly (Senate) has declared that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is going to rule Delta State “forever since nobody can change the political destiny of Delta State.”
Senator Amori made this declaration in an interview with journalists during his thanksgiving occasion at the Catholic Church of Assumption in Mosogar, Ethiope West Local Government Area.
The occasion attracted the presence of Dr. Bukola Saraki, President of Senate; Senator Ike Ekweremade, Deputy Senate President; Senator Godswill Akpabio, Minority Leader; Senator Dino Melaye; Hon. Leo Ogor, Minority Leader, Federal House of Representatives; His Excellency, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State; Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday Ovwigho Igbuya; Hon. Jonathan Amitaye, Commissioner representing Okpe, Sapele, Ethiope West in DESOPADEC; Members of State Executive Council; Local Government Council Chairmen; Traditional rulers.
Senator Amori, who admitted that the race for 2019 has just started said that Delta State is the ‘National Headquarters of PDP’ added as thus; “ the journey to 2019 has just started Delta State is the National Headquarters of PDP in Nigeria. Nobody can change our destiny, Delta State will remain PDP forever and ever it is not matter of 50 years, and it is forever and ever.”
Senator Amori also disclosed that he has every reason to thank God that having started his political career as a councillor in 1987 in the then Ethiope East LGA,today I have climbed the ladder to become Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, this is the beginning of political, economic and social elevation in the country.
Earlier, Senator Bukola Saraki, Senate President was overwhelmed with the magnitude of attendance and described Senator Amori as a crowd puller and great mobilizer of men, just as he stressed that he knew Senator Amori when he was a “Super Commissioner under my friend (James Ibori)”.
On his part, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa said that with the trio of Senator Amori, James Manager and Peter Nwaoboshi, you have a lot to achieve politically, adding that they have done Deltans proud while serving in the state which they will replicate at National level adding that as a person “Senator Amori is a person you will love to have when it comes to politics.”
While urging Deltans and Nigerians to keep faith with their leaders and be patient as a result of present economic hardship, he assured that his tenure as Senate President is focus and committed towards policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of Deltans.
Honourable Jonathan Okpako Amitaye, Commissioner representing Okpe, Sapele and Ethiope West in the Board of Delta State oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), commended the Urhobos for voting enmasse and electing Senator Amori whom he described as a political machine considering the calibre of the people you see here today; the Senate President, his Deputy and others, what does it tell you? Is it not clear that Chief Amori is a great political leader? So Urhobos should continue to support him because I know he will not disappoint them.”
