A socio-political pressure group popularly known as ‘Oxygen’ has reaffirmed its support for the choice of Senator (Dr.) Arthur IfeanyiOkowa as the next governor of Delta State.

The group whose real name is Delta Support for Okowa and Otuaro (DSO2), which has members spread across the state, made this known on Tuesday, January 27, when the campaign train of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer visited Isiokolo and Ughelli.

Speaking at the organisation’s headquarters situated along Airport Road, Warri, immediately he returned from Ughelli, the Chairman of the movement, Comrade (Engr) Larry Eduvie

Efekodha, stated that the group will not only support the duo of Okowa and Otuaro to the government house, but will also support their government till the end. This, they said, isdue to their infinite trust in the personalities of the flagbearers and their loyalty to the party.

According to him, “Members of the Oxygen Movement spread across the 25 local governments of the state are being mobilized to ensure victory at the polls. We also assist registered voters in the state who have not collected their permanent voter’s card by giving them directions on how to go about the collection. We can be contacted through any of our members statewide, on or on facebook:”.

The number one Oxygen, reflecting on the day’s rally, observed that; contrary to propaganda that the opposition has a strong hold of the Urhobo nation, the outing has shown, axiomatically, that the PDP still retains its place in the hearts of the Urhobos as well as other ethnic nationalities.

“The Urhobos are in fully in support of Okowa, as evidenced in today’s outing where a lot of people decamped from other parties to join the PDP. Such as the two-time Director-General of Chief Great Ogboru’s campaign organisation, Coach Obire, who came with thousands of followers to join the PDP.

“I am partly Urhobo, and I do not know anybody anywhere who have sworn to give his support to the opposition. It is nothing but a cheap propaganda employed by the opposition to deceive the public.” He said.

Comrade Efekodha described Okowa as the “long awaited messiah”, and called on Deltans to “trust the gentleman”. He assured that after Okowa’s reign as governor of Delta State, there would be no opposition left in the state, as they would have been silenced. He also pointed out the fact that the senator’s political experience and personality dwarfs all the oppositions put together.

Earlier, at the Ughelli Township Stadium, the Vice-Chairman of the group, Comrade Israel Oduduwa Ogoba, expressed his satisfaction with the turnout of people. He also stated his absolute confidence in Senator Okowa, and called on “those who may still be blind to the fact that he whom the cap fits has already won, to shine their eyes and join the moving train for the progress of the state.”

Encouraging the members of Oxygen movement statewide to keep the flag flying, he also called on all registered voters to ensure that they get their PVC, and to cast their votes wisely. “We are ready to support the Senator with all we have. And I mean, everything we have.” He concluded.
