By the end of February 2019, the Ovwor/Effurun-Otor Bridge would be completed.

Gov Okowa gave the assurance after an inspection tour of the progress of work on the project site, Tuesday, January 08, 2019.

Accompanied by former deputy governor, Prof Amos Utuama, the Contractor handling the job, Chief John Oguma, other illustrious sons and politicians of Ughelli South scion as well as the State government functionaries; Gov Okowa took a cursory look at the various structure and level of construction work in progress and following a briefing by the Contactor assured that by the end of February, 2019 the project would be ready for commissioning.

“The Contractor is doing well, a lot of work has been done and by the end of February the Bridge should be completed as all critical components are already in place” Okowa said.

He thanked the indigenes of the two communities impacted by the Bridge (Ovwor and Effurun-Otor) for their cooperation with the contractor saying the communities have supported the contractor by providing good working environment.

“I am pleased with the communities and I must thank their leaders” he said.
