Surveyor Elias Ovesuor

Surveyor Elias Ovesuor, an aspirant to the coveted seat of the House of Representatives through the Isoko Federal Constituency, in Delta Sate, has submitted his completed nomination and expression of interest forms to the PDP national secretariat at Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

The nomination forms which were received at the PDP Secretariat at about 3.28pm on October 30, 2014 were duly acknowledged for processing.

Fielding questions from reporters at the Wuse zone 5, in Abuja, immediately after submitting the forms, Surv. Elias Ovesuor explained that he decided to contest the House of Rep seat to correct certain anomalies which have become very worrisome to the electorate of Isoko Federal Constituency. These, amongst others, include: incumbency power intoxication syndrome, tenure elongation phobia, and lack of commensurate meaningful infrastructural development within the 11½ years stewardship of constituency project votes by the present occupant of the seat at the National Assembly.

Other near-provocative misnomers he observed include outright violation of a brotherly rotational documented agreement made in 2003 to wrest power from Isoko South to Isoko North just after four years tenure predicated on ‘mother’s breast’ which the two children must have equal access to.

He expressed disappointment at the glaring breach of the contract agreement between the people of Isoko South and Isoko North to the effect that the occupant of the Isoko federal constituency seat in the House of Reps be rotated as reflected in a meeting held in High Chief S.A.Uredi’s residence years back.

He saw the desire by the present occupant of the seat, Hon Leor Ogor as a slight on the integrity and intelligence of the people of Isoko 12 years after and hoping to go for a fourth term in office.

“Does he regard the leaders of thought and politicians in Isoko South as ‘docile and imbecile? “No, no, no, the trend must change! It is enough of that dastard act of marginalization of the Isoko South people.”

Elias Ovesuor described the present scenario where a messenger has become a Principal as an absolute misnomer and an “evil wind” that blows no good to the electorates.

Responding to a question; Surveyor Ovesuor told the reporters that if elected as flag bearer under the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), he would ensure transparent representation by ensuring that constituency projects touch the lives of the electorates.

If elected, he promised to use his professional connection as a surveyor and estate valuer to attract federal projects into Isoko Nation.  Surv. Ovesuor therefore appealed to all delegates from Isoko North and South to vote him in as the new flag bearer in the forth- coming party primaries come November 19, 2014.

It would be recalled that at the commencement of this fourth Republic in 1999, Engr Chief Anthony Efekodha from Isoko South local government represented the Isoko Federal constituency at the National Assembly up till 2003 after which he was voted out through a consensus agreement to enable the present incumbent from Isoko North have a taste of the proverbial “mother’s breast” which he doesn’t want to give up even after the expiration of three consecutive 4-year tenures.
