Sen Peter Nwaoboshi

The woes of the controversial Senator representing Delta North Senatorial district, Peter Nwaoboshi had remained scandalous in the face of endless alleged corrupt practices.

Senator Nwaobosi who had been entangled in multiple allegations of monumental graft by diverse anti – corruption agencies including EFCC and ICPC as well as the police over murder charges may be on his way out of the red chambers following expected Judgment at the Federal High Court, Abuja in a pre election matter between him and Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko.

To evade justice, the Senator, having realized that he  had no case, allegedly launched desperate but  futile attempts  to frustrate the matter through frivolous petitions and devious plot to bribe Judges, sadly in vain to subvert due judicial process.

According to a legal   source who spoke on conditions of anonymity,  Sen. Nwaoboshi was sighted  at the Federal High Court, Abuja on Wednesday 27th of March, 2019 in company of a prominent professor of law from Delta State,  where they allegedly  attempted to lobby and offer a bribe of 2Billion Naira to the judge but the juicy but dirty overture was  resisted by the judge .

” Nwaoboshi and co came  with haughty  enthusiasm  to gain unwarranted access and favour . To the embattled Senator’s chagrin and frustration, he met a brick wall. He was oblivious of the impeccable character of the presiding judge. A legal luminary accustomed to incorruptible judicial standing.  Nwaoboshi went out of the federal high court looking gloomy and dejected as all moves to   secure judicial respite with the  2billion naira bribe  failed woefully. He left disgraced” The source noted.

Explaining further, the source added “This matter is a true test of the Judiciary being the final arbiter and hope of the people.  Justice will prevail in the end in deference to rule of law and impartiality”

Nwaoboshi had been in palpable fear and panic over the Delta North senatorial court case against the background of widespread irregularities that marred the October 2018 primary election.

It would be recalled that the controversial emergence of Nwaoboshi as winner of the PDP Delta North Senatorial primary had been greeted with public outrage as Prince Ned Nwoko is generally believed to have won.

Manipulation and political subterfuge aided Nwaoboshi according to top party officials. But he may face the worst infamy next week as body of evidence weigh heavily against him.
