The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has lifted the indefinite suspension slammed on some of its members in Delta state.

A statement issued by the NUJ, Delta state council and signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu and Churchhill Oyowe respectively said the decision to lift the suspension was considered after intervention of well meaning individuals and leaders of the union.

“The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, wishes to announce the immediate lifting of the suspension of the 35 journalists suspended for their involvement in anti-union activities.

“The council came to this decision after giving due consideration to appeals from well meaning individuals in the society and leaders in the union.

“It however wants to use this medium to advise members of the council to be guided by the rules governing the union and carry out their professional roles with utmost discretion.

“The council wishes to restate its commitment to enhancing the professional integrity and welfare of members at all times.” The statement said.
