By Ugbogbo Godwin
A group of ex-militants who are sympathetic to President Buhari have accused Rotimi Amaechi, Ibe Kachikwu and Chris Ngige of frustrating their effort to supporting President Buahri’s drive towards a better Nigeria.
Leader of the group, Israel Akpodaro made the accusation while fielding questions from reporters recently.
He berated the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources , Ibe Kachukwu among others for not relating with the ex militant group leaders in the ministers’ on going Niger Delta development plan saying ” I dont know the interest of the minister of state for petroleum, Ibe Kachulwu and others ,they claim to be working for the development of the region, they claim to be working on behalf of Mr President but who are they actually working with ? Let them tell the federal government and the Niger Delta people.because these ministers know full well that we are from the region, myself-Israel Akpodoro, Chief Michael Johnny and Africa Okpariasa.
“ Are the ministers not aware of our sacrifice , self dedication and indeed our effort before, during and after the elections and how we co-ordinated and managed a large number of the Niger Delta youths to embrace peace thereby work with our incumbent president ?
“ Is he not aware how we have faithfully and genuinely worked with President Buhari from the out set ? Now as major youth leader(s) in the region , if the ministers are doing anything to develop the region, why can’ t they put us in the know considering our stake in sustaining the peace in the region ? which is better to work with those who are against the president or those who are for him?” he retorted.
