LG polls: Eguke declares intent, harps on security of Ughelli

Hon Sunday Eguke has pledged commitment to restructuring the security apparatus in Ughelli North LGA, if elected as chairman of the LGC.
He made the pledge during his declaration of intent to contest the seat of the chairman of the LG in the forth coming local polls; Tuesday, Sept 5.
Topping his 3-point agenda which include human and capital development, Hon Eguke said security of the LG remained his priority stressing that when the LG is secured and safe, investors would be able to do business comfortably and provide opportunity for human and capital development of the people.
In an interview he said was overwhelmed by the multitude of supporters from all clans of the LG that followed him to the PDP secretariat for the declaration of the intent.
While expressing gratitude to his teeming supporters, he sued for steadfastness and further commitment to the cause of ensuring that he emerged as chairman –elect of the LGC during the polls.
Leaders of the party led by its chairman, Hon Lawrence Agbatutu received Hon Eguke and his entourage at the party secretariat where he declared his intent.
The party leaders took turn to advise him to be focus and carry out wide consultation to garner sufficient support for the actualization of his ambition.
In a separate interview, Olorogun Steve-wark Obruche described Hon Eguke as honest and transparent.
“He did well as Councilor and hence we the entire people of Uwheru are projecting him for the chairman of the council. We pray for him to win and climb higher in his political career” he said.
Chief Peter Idiasa, Egbikume Oruma, Johnmark Eke, Olorogun Ofuoma Emmanuel were among other leaders from Uwheru who graced the occasion.
