I will make Delta uncomfortable for criminals – Alkali
By Fabian Omamuyovwi Imetue
The new Delta State Police boss, CP Alkali Baba Usman has promised to exceed the achievement recorded by his predecessor, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba in office to justify the confidence reposed in him by the police high command.
He said he will also make the State uncomfortable for all criminally-minded persons who would not want to allow Deltans and residents alike to sleep with their two eyes closed to stay clear or be ready to face unpleasant consequences.
The Commissioner of Police who stated this while briefing newsmen in his office recently also called for collaborative efforts with all stakeholders in the war against crimes and criminality in order to make his tenure in office a success.
While giving his score card for the past two months, the CP said the command has delivered on its core mandate of prevention of crime by reducing crime wave to the barest minimum through the robust crime prevention and fighting measures put in place.
Some of the major achievements recorded in the period under review include arrest of 48 armed robbers/kidnappers, rescuing of seven(7) kidnapped victims, recovering of 6 and 31 English and locally made guns and recovering of 53 ammunition. Others according to the Command include; recovering of 112 cartridges, recovering of 12 stolen vehicles, arrest of 10 cultists, 3 armed robbers/kidnappers shot and fatally wounded while 30 suspects where charged to court.
