Ekuobodo, an Itsekiri community in Mosogar, Ethiope West Local Government Area has urged Labour Party House of Representatives candidate Chief(Capt.) Victor Adarighofua to integrate the seeming abandoned community in its development programme for Ethiope Federal Constituency.
The Community leaders, who gathered at the Ekuobodo town hall to receive Captain Sota and his campaign team, disclosed that the community has been virtually cut off from Mosogar town over the years by political representatives in terms of infrastructures and total lack of government presence in the area.
The leaders who bemoaned lack of a public primary and potable water supply in the community, pointed out that apart from the favourable position of the community during elections in for Mosogar, the sea shore dwellers contribute fish in commercial quantity as well as farming crops to the economy of the area.
We are going to pitch tent with labor party in this elections, as according to the leaders, we are in PDP and have worked so hard for the victory of the party but have always been forsaken and neglected after our struggles to position the party through our votes. We are going to deliver Labor Party as the first to come to the community to discuss basic problems in the area.
The Spokesman testified of his childhood relationship with the Rep candidate by assuring members of the community of their resolve to deliver the candidate based on his promise, explaining that Sota is a man of respect and credibility and could be trusted for his words.
Responding, Captain Sota told members of the community of his resolve to immortalize his name in the annals of history by rendering selfless service to uplift the constituency.
According to him, “ Ekuobodo is very dear to my heart as a neglected community and I must assure you that if voted into office as well as Labour Party Governorship candidate-Chief Great Ogboru, your age-long problems of underdevelopment shall be put to rest as am going to partner with the incoming Governor to address the issue promptly.
Further to Chief Sota’s campaign in Ethiope East and Ethiope West, the youth bodies in Oghara and Idjerhe were recently hosted by the Labour Party candidate at two venues in Jesse and Oghara where they pledged unflinching supports for his election bid.
In Jesse, Mr. Monday Asiaka, who led no fewer than one thousand youths of Jesse origin told the gathering that Captain Sota is a man who has gone and seen the world and as well conquered by educational qualification, exposure and have acquired knowledge and wealth, which he explained has greatly benefited his immediate Community of Jesse.
Mr. Asiaka observed that Captain Sota stands tallest among other contestants in the race for the House or Rep. in Ethiope Federal Constituency besides being a proven philanthropist and employer of Labour with over one hundred workers on his payroll.
Sota’s campaign team was also warmly received in Oghara by a very large number of youths, who were later feted with wines and sumptuous meals.
The youths assured Sota that machinery have been put in place for his victory into the House of Representative by the entire people of Oghara irrespective of their Party affiliations.
