Education Secretary of Ughelli North LGEA, Evang. Peter Emazobi has commended the effort of the Head teacher of Oharisi Model Primary School, Ughelli for his dedication to duty.

 

He gave the commendation during the occasion of the first annual graduation/speech/prize giving Day ceremony of the school which held on Tuesday, July 21, at the school playground.

 

Evang Emazobi observed that the Head teacher and staff of the school were often habitually punctual to the extent that at 8 am, over 80 percent of teachers were already in school each school day.

 

He prayed God to promote the welfare and life of the Head teacher and his staff just as they are committed to the welfare of the pupils under their care. He also prayed God to lift the school children high in life so they could contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the society they find themselves.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Head teacher, Comrade Vincent Enayemo said the graduation ceremony offered opportunity for the school management to present its performance report in academic and extra-curricular activities as well as demonstrate the extent of learning among the pupils to the parents and other education stakeholders.

 

He commended the graduands for their attainment saying: “your graduation today marks a turning point in your personal lives, a special moment of joy for your parents and a moment of pride for ou dear country, Nigeria.

 

According to him, 564 pupils of the school graduated from one academic wrung to the next having been found worthy in both character and learning. Out of the number, 490 pupils sat for the 2015 First School Leaving Certificate Examination and would potentially transit to the Junior Secondary School 1, class by the next academic session while 74 KG3 would be proceeding to primary class one.

“As graduates of Oharisi Model Primary School, Ughelli you have a duty to prove yourselves by the way you solve problems through the application of the training you have received while here. You must stay competitive and excel ahead of others at all times. A graduate of Oharisi Model Primary School, Ughelli is trained to be self-reliant and useful to the society” he said and charged the graduands to endeavour to keep in touch with the school and their classmates under the umbrella of old pupils association.

 

The occasion was spiced by news casting in English and Urhobo Languages, cultural dance by KG pupils, drama piece by special education pupils, career display and fashion parade; chorography and poem recitation.

 

Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of certificates and prizes to the graduands.

Among dignitaries that graced the occasion were: Comrade Adogbeji Gabriel who chaired the event, Mrs Odiete Martha and Mr Dietake David who both represented the CIE of Ughelli North, Pst. Ogheneovo Ovuakpotha, Mr Vincent Useh, Comrade Steve Erhierene (Sec AOPSHON, Ughelli South) , Head teachers from various schools  in the LG and the Ovie of Ughelli, HRM Oharisi 111, who was represented by Chief Edevwie Ochuko Fidelis.
