Edo state Police Command has achieved remarkable success in crime fighting even though some pocket of criminals are still perpetuating themselves in crime and criminality across the state.

The commissioner of Police Edo State Command, CP, Haliru Gwandu stated this recently in Benin City the state capital, when the Command paraded some suspected criminals that have been terrorizing the metropolis in the last couple of months.

In a harvest of over 100 suspected criminal paraded before newsmen in Benin, the Commissioner, Mr Gwandu, explained that from the number 44 suspects have been charged to court as 16 kidnapped victims  were also rescued.

The Edo police boss thanked the men of the command for their untiring effort. He equally thanked the people of the state for their cooperation in crime fighting and sued for more support.

One of the suspected, Peckins Ogbemudia, 16, confessed to the crimes but said he joined the gang ignorant of the business they were into.

Meanwhile the Edo police also said criminals may have to look elsewhere as the state is no longer a safe haven for them following the combat readiness of the police in the state.
