Relatives of public office holders have been charged not to mount undue pressure on them so that such public office holders would not be prompted to corrupt and sharp practises.

Head teacher of Otovwodo primary school, Otovwodo-Ughelli, Mrs Beatrice Agberia gave the charge during the maiden edition of nine lessons and carols of the school held on Friday, Dec 4 at the school premises.

She said the event was to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ pointing out that the implication of the birth of Christ shows that God use anybody to attain any height in life.

“No matter the position you are in life God can choose you to give birth to great men just as Jesus Christ who was born in a manger became the greatest of men”.

She encouraged the school pupils not to bother about the situation they find themselves saying that God who knows the beginning and the end knows how to take care of His people.

According to her the generosity of the Santa Claus (Father Christmas) during the Christmas season teaches children to give generously but that such generosity should not be abused by mounting unnecessary pressure on one’s relative who hold public office and prompt them to be corrupt.

While charging Nigerians to be honest all time, she urged the Nigeria school-child to live a righteous life as typified in the chastity of the Virgin Mary.

The Head teacher encouraged parents to be committed to the upbringing of their children so that when they grow in the fear of God they will not depart from it later in life.

The Pastor Mrs Doris Esedafe in and exhortation admonished Christians to use the Christmas period for reflection and reviving their relationship with God rather than eating and drinking alone.

“Put Jesus as number one, not eating chicken and drinking wine, renew your relationship with God so you can enjoy the remaining days of the year”.

The CIE of Ughelli North, Mrs Winifred Ighovbeta who was represented by Mr John Omokiniovo congratulated the Head teacher for the event which provided opportunity for the school children to be happy and encouraged her to keep it up.

The NUT represented by Comrade Ifeta Lucky, Head teachers of various schools including Obire M, Ofogbe Agatha, Osiokor J among others graced the occasion.
