An Okwagbe based businessman, Mr David Ikpuru has petitioned Mr. Collins Eselemo ,the All Progressive Congress APC candidate for the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency in the 2019 general elections through the Ughelli, Police Area Command to the Inspector General of Police for allegedly obtaining through pretence 500 bags of Dangote cement worth 250,000 naira with a dud cheque.
This is contained in a petitioned letter signed by Mr Ikpuru and made available to newsmen saying , the Diamond bank now Access bank cheque which was issued by Mr Eselemo after the transaction on the 10/9/2014 bounced at the bank’s counter added that ,ever then, the issuer has been evasive and went into thin air, it stated.
The statement noted that after that transaction, his business has suffered a lot of setbacks as he could no longer meet up financially to the dictates of demands.
While lamenting the untold hardship he has suffered, he called on the Nigeria Police to arrest, prosecute and charge Mr Eselemo to Court to check his conduct.
According to the statement ” sir, used your good office to arrest this fraudster to avoid further victims and for his prosecution in a Court of jurisdiction and to avoid breakdown of order”.
While reacting to the allegation, Mr Eselemo denied buying 500 bags of Dangote cement and issuing a dud cheque but admitted paying some substantial amount of cash into the bank account of Ikpuru after a transaction.
“I know, I have little to balance to give to him. And we could not come to a compromise because of disagreement on the balance which is a far cry from what he is claiming”.
Reacting further, he said for the complainant to say he does no know where he lives was a cheap blackmail adding that he is being used by his opponent as a precondition to drop his ambition against them.
