General Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, has officially inaugurated the party’s governorship candidate for Delta State in the forthcoming 2015 general elections in Nigeria. He is Olorogun O’tega Emerhor.

The declaration ceremony which took place at the Warri city stadium on Wednesday January 7, 2015 attracted a crowd that almost filled the stadium to capacity.

The ceremony was brief as it started several hours behind schedule. While awaiting Buhari and his entourage, the audience was thrilled to diverse presentations by several groups of party supporters who marched round the main bowl of the stadium intermittently with banners/placards bearing different inscriptions such as “APC, change”, “Buhari for Presidential, Emerhor for Governor”, “Emerhor is the man we want”, and “Nigeria needs change, APC is the change”.

In his speech, Muhammadu Buhari stated that the present condition of Nigeria needs a change and that APC has come to effect the needed change that would make Nigeria the cynosure in the comity of nations. The retired army General said that Nigeria is so much blessed with mineral resources that are being mismanaged by the present administration to the detriment of the masses.

“An APC government will properly harness these resources for the benefit of all Nigerians. The four refineries we have two in Port Harcourt, one in Warri and the other in Kaduna will be rebuilt and we will not have to import petroleum products”, he remarked.
