APC leaders and members in Udu ward 2, giving consensus endorsement to Hon Akpovoka in Owhrode

Out of 32 wards in Ughelii/Udu federal constituency, nine wards have given consensus endorsement of Hon Julius Akpovoka ahead of the APC primaries for the House of Reps.

Among the wards and leaders of the party that gave a nod for the aspiration of Hon Akpovoka to fly the party flag are: the party executives and wards in Ughelli North LGA, ward chairmen in Udu, the three wards of Olomu and their executives, all the delegates for the primary election and the executives of Agbarha ward, Okpaka-Udu ward and its executives, Udu wards I and 2.

Others are Evwreni ward, Orogun ward 1, and Agbarho which zoned the seat of the House of Reps to Ughelli endorsed Hon Akpovoka as its consensus candidate.

The people believe that Hon Akpovoka has the potentials, experience, commitment and zeal to protect the interest of the constituents if elected into the National Assembly as their representative.

The consensus endorsement were given during the consultation visits of Hon Akpovoka to the wards during which he told the people that the reason for his aspiration was basically to effect change in the representation of the constituency in the House of Reps.

On Wednesday, Aug 15, his consultation train visited the Udu wards and at Udu ward 2, Owhrode, he told the constituents that the Ibori political dynasty which has been sustained by Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and Governor Okowa has mortgaged the economic fortunes of Delta state for the next 40 years.

He said unless an altruistic leader like Chief Great Ogboru is elected to be the next governor and Obaisi Ovie Omo-Agege is returned as senator for Delta Central, the economic future of the constituents would remain bleak and posterity would not be happy with the role the constituents played in their participation in partisan politics.

According to him, only the person of Great Ogboru would be able to make the Ibori political dynasty account for the plundering of the state resources over the years and hence, urged the constituents to give the required support to Ogboru during the party governorship primary election.

“My priority is to see that you elect Ogboru as the next governor and when that is done, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and myself would give the necessary legislative support to enable him liberate Deltans from the economic prison the Ibori political dynasty has put us.”

Hon Akpovoka promised to be rugged in pursuit of interest of his constituents when elected as member of the House of Reps adding that one-third of his salaries would be dedicated for the upkeep and welfare of his constituents, apart from ensuring that constituency projects were made available and executed by the party leaders at the grassroots.

Comrade Freedom Omogbene, spokesman of the APC in Udu ward 2, in response said that the people of the constituency believed in Hon Akpovoka’s ability to deliver and hence they gave him the mandate in 2015 but it was stolen by the PDP.

While assuring Hon Akpovoka of their total support during the primary and general elections, he cautioned the aspirant to take note of the sufferings of the constituents occasioned by lack of infrastructure, especially access roads.

“But do not worry, we are for you” he said.

Chairman of the ward, Rev Francis Afuevure  sealed  the endorsement with apology to the declaration and words of authority of the renowned spiritual leader of God’s Grace Ministry, Miyerijesu, Bishop of the whole world and said, “Akpovoka, you are lucky” and prayed that the pronouncement and benediction of the man of God work for the aspirant.

In an interview, Madam Omavauyere Ode aka Yellow Sisi who is the woman leader of the consultation train described the consultation outing so far as impressive.

“Akpovoka is doing well and waxing stronger. He stands the best chance to being the party candidate for the election. He is energetic and committed. Once he starts his consultation he does not stop until it is over. He contributed so much to our being members of the executives at the ward level and we are prepared to reciprocate the gesture by ensuring that he becomes the candidate and overall winner of the election” she assured.

The consultation visits led by Chief Isaac Fati continued as at press time.
