The newly elected chairman of All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Delta
State Chapter, Hon Joshua Adjarho has called on individual farmers in
the state not to pay any money to any person for any purpose.

He gave the directive in the wake of reports of fraudsters who are
allegedly extorting money from unsuspecting farmers, shortly after he
was sworn in as the new chairman of the association.

The AFAN chairman said that the association does not collect money
from individuals in respect of fees for processing loans from any bank
rather; the association does so through cooperative societies,
commodity associations and corporate bodies.

“Any body found collecting money from any individual farmer should be
reported to the police” he said stressing that the association does
not own any coordinator but has chairmen across the 25 LGAs across the
state.

The newly elected executive body of the association has the following
as members: Hon Joshua Adjarho(chairman), Barr. Chief Ovririe Benjamin
(Dep c/m), Elder Kpalobi C.C(Vice C/M-North), Chief Magege J.O(Vice
C/M-Central), Chief Abukobri Parkinson (Vice C/M-South), Mr Okunbor
JAE(Sec), Abu Joshua(Asst Sec), Mr Ebigbeyi Paul(Treasurer) and Mr
Idama Onuwa (Fin Sec).

Others are Lt Ekpeti Johnson rtd (PUB Sec), Hon Anthony oviri Atima
(Org Sec), Tugele Ayo (Women rep), nikoro Wilson (Youth Leader) and
Gerry Osai (Ex officio).

The election was observed by the police, ministry of agric officials,
reps of Benin Owena River Basin Authority, Delta Coop Federation, NDDC
and national officers of AFAN
