By Jon Egie
Prince Eric Oharisi, younger brother to the Ovie of Ughelli, HRM Oharisi 111, has declared his interest to contest the Ughelli Constituency seat in the DTHA, come 2015.
Prince Oharisi made the declaration on the occasion of the opening ceremony of his campaign office and the inauguration of his campaign team, Saturday, April 19, at Otovwodo-Ughelli.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of PDP leaders and faithful, Prince Oharisi said that based on his interest to contest the seat he has embarked on wide consultation across the stakeholders of the PDP in Delta State and Ughelli North LGA in particular.
According to him, he was encouraged by the party leaders and faithful to go on the journey and therefore solicited the support of all members of the PDP to enable him clinch the party ticket for the race.
Earlier, the chairman of the occasion, Chief Olori Magege who was represented by Hon John Oboroh said the event was to re-consolidate the PDP in Ughelli North constituency 11, pointing out that the large representation of the party at the event was a sufficient evidence to buttress the point.
“There will be no leakages, no in-house fighting in PDP as PDP is going to record landslide victory in 2015 elections.
Chief Shedrack Imoniero, chairman of the PDP in Ughelli North used the occasion to assure that Prince Eric Oharisi is a credible aspirant among others who will indicate interest to contest the seat in the DTHA and go through the party primary.
Taking turn to speak, the PDP National Vice Chairman (South-South), Dr Steve Oru on behalf of the PDP National Working Committee wished Prince Eric Oharis good luck in his political journey.
He said Eric Oharis displayed wisdom in choosing to contest on the platform of the PDP as the PDP is the only political party in Nigeria that has a national spread and will continue to win elections.
He said the APC like an infant, will learn to spell and write political ABC before it will be mature enough to compete with the PDP in in elections.
He therefore enjoined PDP members to remain firm and steadfast believing that if Prince Eric Oharisi continued on his track, “victory will be his in 2015” Dr Steve Oru said.
